Visi 100 Tahun Bola Sepak Jepun

Visi 100 Tahun Bola Sepak Jepun

Mitsuru Murai, Chairman, Japan Professional Football League (J.League)

TOKYO — The Japan Professional Football League (J.League) has an ambitious goal and a 100-year vision – to build a richer sporting environment for Japan by nurturing a new sporting culture rooted in community-based sports clubs.

The J.League kicked off in 1993. Today, there are 51 clubs in three leagues, coming from 36 prefectures.

Many challenges lie ahead for the J.League, says Chairman Mitsuru Murai. Born in Saitama Prefecture, he graduated from Waseda University in 1983. He spent 25 years with Recruit before joining the J.League in 2008. He became chairman in January this year.

Japan Today catches up with Murai to hear more about the future of the J.League.

What are your biggest challenges?

One is to increase crowd attendance. Currently, the average attendance per game in J1 is about 17,000. We want to get it up over the 20,000 level. To do this, we need to improve the level of play to make games more appealing to fans. That takes time because we don’t have big names in our league, like Messi or Ronaldo, for example.

We also want to make sure the stadiums are safe and somewhere to bring the family, especially behind the goals. You can bring even small children to the seats behind the goals here, which is something you can’t do in every country.

How do you raise the playing level?

One way is for players and coaches to gain experience playing overseas. When the J.League started 20 years ago, it was almost unheard of for Japanese players to go to overseas clubs. They weren’t good enough. I’m proud that so many have now gone abroad. And when they return, they also lift the quality of the game in Japan.

I notice you are getting a lot of “football tourists” from abroad.

Yes, we are seeing more J.League fans coming from Asia, especially Hong Kong. They combine football matches with visits to tourist sites, hot springs and so on. Considering there are 51 clubs in the J.League, that is a lot of places to visit.

Are all J.League teams financially stable?

Almost all clubs are in the black. The J.League stipulates that any team that stays in the red for more than three consecutive years will lose its league membership.

What are your expansion plans?

There are currently 51 clubs in 36 prefectures. Eventually, we hope to add clubs from every prefecture. J1 has 18 teams, J2 has 22 and J3 has 11, so any new clubs will initially join J3.

What are the conditions of entry?

For a new club, the conditions are different for each division. For J1, clubs must have a stadium with a minimum capacity of 15,000; for J2, it is 10,000. In addition, the club must be financially stable and have corporate status.

What’s happening with stadium infrastructure?

Some stadiums are being rebuilt but the trend now is to build new stadiums with roofs and nearer to train stations.

How many foreign players are allowed per team in the J.League?

The limit is four per club plus one more from Asian leagues with which we have partnerships, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar.

As you know, there have been a few racist incidents this year. How are you trying to prevent such incidents form tarnishing the game in Japan?

We have acted quickly on this but, ultimately, the clubs have to take responsibility to stamp out racism swiftly. This is not just a problem for sports. It’s a problem for society as a whole. But football is a global game, with close connections to other countries, so it is our responsibility to take the lead in stamping out racism. The J.League has joined in the global movement to eradicate discrimination.

Speaking of the global game, what did you think of Japan’s performance at the World Cup?

I attended Japan’s games in Brazil and I think that perhaps there was too much pressure from the media on the Japanese team. Expectations were too high. Japanese football is improving but so, too, is the football in other countries, especially at club level. J.League clubs need to play more official games against top European opposition rather than having so many friendlies. Coaches and referees need to go abroad, too.

How many referees do you have in the J.League?

There are 15 full-time professionals and more than 100 amateurs. I’d like to see more professionals.

Has football remained popular at grassroots level?

Yes. Football is still the most popular sport among children in Japan. For the 3rd year in a row, becoming a J.League player has stayed the most popular dream of young boys.

How many games do you see each week?

Usually two on weekends. I try to see games in all three divisions. Since becoming chairman in January, I have visited or seen games involving 47 of the 51 clubs.

What is a typical day for you?

Monday to Thursday, I am here with internal meetings, or meeting sponsors and doing media interviews. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, I visit clubs and watch matches. Sometimes, I also go overseas for FIFA meetings and to countries where we have tie-ups.

Do you play any sports?

Last year I ran in the Honolulu Marathon. Besides watching football, I like baseball and tennis, too.

Douglas Costa, 'The Next Big Thing'

Check it out man!!!

P/s: memang fight dan perform team Bayern. Huhu

Right now I find it really hard to find the words to describe my state of mind ... it all happened very quickly and in 24 hours I found myself having to make a decision that I am sure will be the right one for me and for my career. I question the need to point out how much I am sorry to leave a club like Milan and its fans. Besides the fact that from an early age are linked to these colors, it's hard to leave a company that has always given me support and confidence even in the worst moments. But I think it got to me the time to turn and embark on a new professional challenge with determination and enthusiasm up. I'm sorry, also, not being able to give my full support, because of injuries, the last two seasons ... but I have always honored and respected this shirt, from beginning to end. These four years have given me so much, I have grown, they have enriched from football and humanly. I thank MILAN, all staff members and all my companions of these seasons; many victories, as many defeats but always with great people, cherish each and every teaching advice received. And finally I just have to thank you, FANS, not the last in order of importance but rather ... unique and special ... Thank you for 'affection that I have always transmitted in any occasion especially in bad times ... And thanks for the kind words and the many messages that still, despite having changed jersey, continue to send me ... I will always carry in the heart Thank you all very much .

– REUTERS

Calcio Storico - permainan bola sepak kuno yang ganas

Sport: Players score by throwing or kicking the ball into a long, thin net spanning the width of the pitch (picture here, in front of the crowd)

Hahhahaha... gila punya permainan.
Aku rasakan, orang Italy dah bosan dengan Serie A gamaknya.
                    Hahhahahhaah...

                      Sepp Blatter letak jawatan

Isu Rasuah: Sepp Blatter letak jawatan

                      Sepp Blatter, 2 June

I have been reflecting deeply about my presidency and about the 40 years in which my life has been inextricably bound to Fifa and the great sport of football. I cherish Fifa more than anything and I want to do only what is best for Fifa and for football.
I felt compelled to stand for re-election, as I believed that this was the best thing for the organisation. That election is over but Fifa’s challenges are not. Fifa needs a profound overhaul.
While I have a mandate from the membership of Fifa, I do not feel that I have a mandate from the entire world of football – the fans, the players, the clubs, the people who live, breathe and love football as much as we all do at Fifa.
Therefore, I have decided to lay down my mandate at an extraordinary elective Congress. I will continue to exercise my functions as Fifa President until that election.
The next ordinary Fifa Congress will take place on 13 May 2016 in Mexico City. This would create unnecessary delay and I will urge the Executive Committee to organise an Extraordinary Congress for the election of my successor at the earliest opportunity. This will need to be done in line with Fifa’s statutes and we must allow enough time for the best candidates to present themselves and to campaign.
Since I shall not be a candidate, and am therefore now free from the constraints that elections inevitably impose, I shall be able to focus on driving far-reaching, fundamental reforms that transcend our previous efforts.
For years, we have worked hard to put in place administrative reforms, but it is plain to me that while these must continue, they are not enough. The Executive Committee includes representatives of confederations over whom we have no control, but for whose actions Fifa is held responsible. We need deep-rooted structural change.
The size of the Executive Committee must be reduced and its members should be elected through the Fifa Congress. The integrity checks for all Executive Committee members must be organised centrally through Fifa and not through the confederations. We need term limits not only for the president but for all members of the Executive Committee. I have fought for these changes before and, as everyone knows, my efforts have been blocked.
This time, I will succeed. I cannot do this alone. I have asked Domenico Scala to oversee the introduction and implementation of these and other measures. Mr Scala is the Independent Chairman of our Audit and Compliance Committee elected by the Fifa Congress. He is also the Chairman of the ad hoc Electoral Committee and, as such, he will oversee the election of my successor. Mr Scala enjoys the confidence of a wide range of constituents within and outside of Fifa and has all the knowledge and experience necessary to help tackle these major reforms.

It is my deep care for Fifa and its interests, which I hold very dear, that has led me to take this decision. I would like to thank those who have always supported me in a constructive and loyal manner as President of Fifa and who have done so much for the game that we all love. What matters to me more than anything is that when all of this is over, football is the winner.

Mari kita straight to the point.

Rm5000? Liga tertinggi kat Malaysia tu!! Mana nak bayar gaji pemain import? Elaun training pemain tempatan?

Misi penting negara. Masuk stadium pun free. Sapa nak bagi free wei. Masuk stadium tengok bola pun kena bayar. Fikir-fikirlah wahai teman.

Temubual bersama Kevin Ramalingam mengenai FMLLP

Temubual bersama Kevin Ramalingam mengenai FMLLP

                            What is Football Malaysia LLP?
It is a new vehicle to drive Malaysian football forward. Its main function is to run and operate the Malaysian Super League, Malaysian Premier League, Malaysian FA Cup, Malaysia Cup and Charity Cup, and commercialise them to achieve the greatest values possible in the long run.
How about MP & Silva? How do they fit into the picture?
MP & Silva’s role in the company is limited to the areas they are involved in. Football Malaysia LLP will undertake different partnerships in different areas, so we can, for instance, commercialise things and invest in infrastructure. In the case of MP & Silva, their involvement is limited to the broadcast and commercial rights of the five properties I mentioned earlier. They will not be involved with the five properties’ day-to-day operation, but we will always consider their input on how we can improve and benefit commercially.
When you were CEO at Kelantan, you aggressively looked for sponsorships, which has served them well until today. Can we expect the same drive from you in this new role?
Of course. I think one of the strong points of my appointment was probably my commercial strengths that I showed during my time at Kelantan. I will definitely look at areas to generate more income for the league, which in turn will give more money to the teams.
Speaking of Kelantan, are you worried that certain fans might accuse you of favouring your old team in the future?
I don’t think it is accurate to suggest that because it is like saying the CEO of Manchester United can never be the CEO of the Premier League. In my current role, some of the things that I definitely cannot influence are the game results and how much money Kelantan will get from future sponsorships. My role is to ensure that commercially the company is able to give back as much as it can to the teams, and grow the league in the years to come.
As for my previous involvement with Kelantan, I don’t see it as a chink in my armour. Rather, it is a proof that I can do my job. I hope the fans can see that I have been on the side of a football club and that I understand what that side needs. I hope they can see it is better than having someone with no football background at all.
Well, regardless of that, all eyes will be on your company and not the FAM anymore on what will happen to the M-League in the future. Judging from what the FAM has experienced over the past years, don’t you think it is too big of a task?
I was warned by His Highness Tengku Abdullah [President of the FAM] in a meeting before I was appointed that it is a high-profile position. However, I still took it because the opportunity was presented to me to make a difference in Malaysian football, and I will strive to achieve that. People have the right to criticise me, so all I need to do is to walk the walk instead of just talk to talk.

How many employees do you currently have in your company?
Officially, I am the only one in the office now. [Laughs] It will be sorted out soon, but one thing I will try not to do is to recruit people from football clubs. I have been tasked to strengthen the clubs and guide them to become technically strong and organised, so it will be wrong for me to rip talent from them. I should be empowering them, not weakening them. So, I will hire people outside football and find the right personnel. I already have a few candidates in mind to fill up the roles in the company, so I hope I can build a solid organisation.
Many people, including Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, have criticised the FAM for getting the lion’s share of money from the MP & Silva deal. What do you have to say about that?
Yes, it does look that way when you talk purely about the percentage – as it stands, the FAM and the teams will get 40% and 30% respectively – but it is not the case at all. It needs to be highlighted that the FAM’s portion is a decreasing percentage, while the clubs’ is an increasing percentage. Unlike the clubs, the FAM’s share of revenue does not multiply by many folds even with an increase of income in the future. It will most likely to stay the same or increase just slightly in the next few years.
Let’s say the income in our first year is RM100m; it means the FAM will get RM40m to balance out the expenses incurred by them. However, if we manage to get RM200m the following year, it does not mean that the FAM will get RM80m. If their total expenditure is just RM60m, they will only get that much, with the remaining going to the clubs. Basically, the more money and sponsorships we secure for the league, the more the clubs will earn and the lesser the FAM will earn.
Eventually the clubs will earn more than the FAM. It is very likely that in the future, when our income is at a certain level, the club may get 70% of the revenue, and we have plans to achieve that.

So there will be more money coming in for the league and the teams besides from MP & Silva?
Yes, the league’s income is not limited to what the MP & Silva deal will bring on board. It will be the major portion of it, but we will definitely have more lines of income in the future to pump into the league and help boost every team. Today we have a minimum of RM70m guaranteed to us thanks to MP & Silva, and that’s just the starting point. We have plans to grow the income beyond the minimum and not being reliant on MP & Silva. We are open to other forms of investment or partnership in other areas so that we reap more benefits in.
In any case, this matter along with other issues will be discussed in length in upcoming workshops organised by the FAM, Football Malaysia LLP and MP & Silva for the teams and media. I hope that everyone will have a better understanding of the revenue arrangement following the workshops.

Will we see the M-League undergo any drastic transformation under Football Malaysia LLP, such as an increase of the number of teams in the Malaysian Super League?
[About the Super League expansion] I am not going to say that it is impossible, but it will not happen so soon. It is easy to increase the number of teams, but we need to consider the effect it might have on the Malaysian Premier League. We need to ensure that the second division will remain competitive if we do explore the possibility of an expansion. Right now, our priority is to ensure the teams of both divisions are doing well in terms of performance, financial stability and technical organisation. Right now, we will work with what we have and make the best out of it.
I have also received a suggestion to merge the Malaysian FA Cup and Malaysia Cup together to create a single competition to reduce the number of games and avoid exhaustion over the course of a season. I can understand where the idea came from because I went through the same thing at Kelantan for three years. When you’re competing in an AFC tournament, the schedule is really tight and you have a game every three days. Kelantan and Selangor experienced that last year and now JDT and Pahang are experiencing it. It is not easy to cope with. Football Malaysia LLP is committed to do something about it because we want Malaysian teams to do well in AFC competitions. So, instead of merging both competitions, what we may look at is extending the length of the football season from, let’s say, eight months to 10, so that we don’t have to cram so many games into a short space of time.

As the new showrunner, what are Football Malaysia LLP’s short-term goals?
Our first and foremost objective is to ensure that the income that is distributed to the teams has an immediate increase in it. We need to ensure that the money gets down to them as quickly as possible because the teams are in need of funding to remain competitive.
On the technical side, we are looking at realigning our transfer windows. In the past few years, some teams have been very lucky to get good, quality import players that have performed fantastically, but there are also teams that are unable to choose from a bigger pool of talent available. It is not any of the teams’ fault in failing to sign good players; it is just that our transfer windows are currently not ideal to get the best import players to come. For example, if we realign our transfer windows with European football’s, I believe we can benefit from it and sign good players who are at the end of their contracts in June. Besides that, we want to do something about the scheduling of the fixtures – by making it less congested – and introduce a professional referees’ body.
