Thank u for having faith in me - luahan hati Lee Chong Wei

SYABAS BAM!!!!

Mari kita ikuti luahan hati Datuk Lee Chong Wei

In his first comments since failing a doping test at the World Championships in Copenhagen, national shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei said he had never cheated in his entire badminton career.

Lee spoke about his anxiety and fear to former Malay Mail sports writer, Satwant Singh Dhaliwal, in the run up to the B-sample being tested and after it was tested.

"I saw my entire life flash by me, the whole last 15 years just going up in smoke. I was devastated and just did not know what to do.

"I have never cheated not even made any attempt to cheat thus this was like a bolt of lightening, destroying everything I had worked so hard for.

"I am a firm believer of hard work and effort to achieve success so such an allegation left me speechless and dumbfounded," said the badminton world number one, as pubslihed on Satwant's blog at ssdhaliwal.blogspot.com.

“My knees wobbled and I could neither stand nor sit down as I read the letter notifying me that I had failed a doping test,” he told Dhaliwal.

Lee went through a random dope test during the World Championships in Copenhagen on August 30. He flew to Norway to witness the seal of his B sample being opened at Oslo on November 5.

Earlier today, BAM received confirmation from Badminton World Federation (BWF) that the result o‎f the test on the B sample confirmed the existence of dexamethasone, a type of steroid.

However, BWF refused to name the shuttler, citing Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) rules.

Lee faces a two-year ban if convicted in the BWF hearing.

Following the letter informing him of the test result, Lee said his wife Wong Mew Choo suggested that they take a break overseas and let the authorities get to the bottom of the matter.

"The Sports Minister took charge personally and for that I am grateful as he guided me and gave me good advice on how to handle matters," he said.

"I was informed that the drug was last injected into me on July 18 and how the traces were still there in August is something I cannot explain.

"Suffice to say I never took any drugs beyond those prescribed to me and deny any suggestions that I resort to traditional herbs that contain banned substance."

Saying an "out of competition" test on August 15 had cleared him, Lee said he still did not how the substance was detected on August 30.

"I never cheated nor will I ever rely on banned substances," he told Satwant.

Lee said he did consider coming out in publc, but later decided to wait until the B-sample was tested.

He said he went to Oslo to observe the testing of the B-sample to satisfy himself.

"I know the possibility of it being different is remote but it is a procedure that needs to be done.

"All my medications, treatment records and supplements are being treated (sic) by the authorities who hope to find out how the substance was still in my system more then a month after I last received the injection for treatment of my thigh injury," said the Perak-born, who turned 32 last month.

Satwant wrote that a six month suspension will mean that Lee would lose some 43,000 out of his 97,000 odd current ranking points, and slip to a world ranking of 15-18 by March 2015.

He warns if things did not favour Lee, Malaysia's dream of getting its first ever gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016 will be dashed. – November 8, 2014.
